Dogs
Tara died when I was five
I didn’t understand then
But she made me happy
She was a lovely little dog
I told her my biggest secrets
But what made me angry:
She ate my chocolate egg!
Tara meant a lot to me

My Sammy, she’s goofy,
sometimes she does zoomies
up, down, all around.
Sometimes she’s greedy
she really is crazo like a potato:
small but mighty,
but never fighty,
She’s just right

My dog is fluffy –
That’s sometimes bad:
I can’t do my homework
She is so fluffy and squishy I get distracted.
But it’s not always that,
When I’m sleepy, she’s so squishy
she’s better than my teddy
I love my doggy

My dog Jess is a large Lab
she is as black as night
and as silky as can be
she speeds across the living room
she runs to the kitchen
when we’re eating Sunday roast
she jumps onto my lap to snuggle me
with her long tongue licking my face
from left to right

My dog is as small as a basketball
and as loving and fluffy as can be
wagging his wonderful tail
fast and blond and snuggling
in between my arms hoping for food
and wanting attention
and licking me to death
his name is Teddy and he is crazy

My Albert fills my heart with love and pride
to have him as I walk beside
soft, silky and smooth as he is
sprints across to me as a whizz
I love him
even if the world goes dim
Alicia 10
My dog jumped on the sofa
with his short legs, tail wagging,
snuggling between my arms,
his slimy tongue licking my face

My dog is Chester
when I call his name
he tilts his furry head
and turns like smoke in the wind

Cats
My cat wears a hat that says
“I sit on my scratch mat!”
She hisses and has mittens
on her cute toe beans.
She is black and white,
her name is Cruella!
My cat mews for milk and food
she is a fatty, fatty bum bum!

I once met a small black cat
He wasn’t any old cat
No, it wasn’t just that –
He loved near an ice cream shop
I would hug him till he would pop.
But one day he wasn’t there,
How on earth was this fair?
Before, we would never part,
but now he only lives in my heart

My cat of whom I love,
Furry, fluffy and felt-like,
Runs like the wind,
Purrs so relaxing,
Micah 10
There’s my cat in the lounge
Zooming around
There’s my cat on the ground
Cuddling while purring with lots of sound

Guinea Pigs
My guinea pig is a small smooth jumping jet

Rabbits
My bunny hops around
hoping for a carrot
her fur is as soft as silk
as her soft ears run against my leg
her paws pad on my lap
as she rummages for attention

Tropical Fish
My fish swishes around the water
my fish goes swish swash
he’s pretty old but he is terrific and cool to watch
as he swims through his tunnel all the time

Cattle
Clover the cow sat at the barn
chomping a hoard of hay
I stroked her soft head as she went “Moo!”
I laughed, smiling

Penguins
Black, white and yellow
swiftly gliding through the water
funny, energetic and small
swallowing fish in their beaks
as their spiky toes trail to the shore
