Bandit Bookmarks

On World Book Day, I was invited to spend the day at Blue Coat Primary School Durham, to talk about being an author. I introduced Year 3 and Year 4 (aged 7 and 8) to Bandit’s Great Escape and described the main characters, then the pupils were given 15 minutes to design Bandit Bookmarks. Some of their wonderful artwork is below. I love it!

From top right to bottom left: Katelyn, Alex, Bluebell, Jeanne, Jaxon,

Oliver, Louisa, Annabelle, Arthur, Ava.
I love Bandit's smile as he learns to swim, drawn by Zach!
From top right to bottom left: Gouri, Ellie, Alman, Jeremiah,

Fayl, Fama, Zach, Jack
.
I love this vibrant fun illustration by Ellie!
A stunning design by Katelyn, and a great eye-catching design by Bluebell!
I love Jeremiah's brilliant drawing of Bandit jumping over the fence!
A beautiful and imaginative drawing by Grace. Liliana has drawn this lovely scene.
I like the way that Tommy has drawn Bandit hiding in between these hills.
I like the realistic movement of Isla and Bandit that Ezra has drawn on the beach.

Josie has designed a clear paw print pathway leading home.

Joshua has drawn a good action scene of Bandit leaping to freedom.
I really like this clear colourful design by Alex, and the joyful Bandit drawing by Ellie.
I love the caption in this pretty design by Sophia: Me and my Dog.

Judah has cleverly incorporated the four main characters in his lively design.
Lily has drawn Bandit listening out for the sound of the sea, so he can find his way home.

I like Isla's simple but striking design.
I love the action in David's drawing.

Niamh has drawn a very expressive, fun rat who has clearly been eating a lot!

I like the rainbow that Mason has drawn over Bandit as he escapes through the gate.
William has created this imaginative drawing of Bandit tunnelling under a wonderful rainbow overhead!
Alfie has captured the character of cheeky Rat brilliantly!

I like how Jesse has drawn the trees: they could either be like bars trapping Bandit, or hiding him as he escapes.
